The department of Labor says that Computer Software Engineers will be the largest growing sector of work between the years 2000 and 2010
It seems they mean “Computer Engineering AND Computer Science” when they say “Computer Software Engineering”.
Very favorable opportunities are expected for college graduates with at least a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science and practical experience working with computers.
They also have a statement on Computer Hardware Engineers which is realistically what I’d be more interested in doing.
Employment of computer hardware engineers is projected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through 2010, reflecting rapid employment growth in the computer and office equipment industry, which employs the greatest number of computer engineers.
